You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me, but showing Love to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep my commandments.”
Exodus 20:4-6
May these scriptures be a lamp that leads you to the Truth, Jesus Christ. This information is not meant to judge, nor use as an excuse to hate or mistreat anyone. For a true follower of Christ knows that God is Love and expects that from us. Read 1 John 4:7-21 and Philippians 2:1-11. Dear friends
as a Christian, I have made my decision to no longer partake in Yoga. This has been a topic that has been pressing on my heart in many ways for a while now & God’s Holy Spirit has opened my eyes & heart to the truth to such an extent I can no longer try to dance around it and say it’s just a form of
exercise or stretching. In truth Yoga is defined as a “Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline.” Without intending to if you say you are doing Yoga, if you practice Yoga, or claim to be a Yogi you are involving yourself in the religion of Hinduism. Hinduism religion involves worship of many gods.
The bible tells us Jesus is the only way to God. Jesus answered, “I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6-7
Breathing and stretching is good for your body and was in existence before Yoga and Hinduism. I believe God gave us the gifts of breath and stretching. Stretching can be beneficial and healthy for your body if done correctly, and if the stretches don’t contradict any health problems you may already have. Breathing keeps us alive, of course, and deep breathing (inhaling and exhaling) can reduce stress.
If your stretching pose is identical to a stretch labeled with a yoga name do not be afraid to be in that pose and have peace of mind as long as you are not seeking to learn yoga. God knows your heart and by belief in His Son, Jesus Christ, the One and Only Savior of the world; God will guard your mind, heart, & soul in all your do.
Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the God of peace, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Jesus Christ. Philippians 4:4-7
